🔒 Our Core Privacy Commitment

Search Everything is built with a zero-data-collection philosophy. We do NOT collect, upload, transmit, store, sell, or share any personal data, search queries, files, photos, contacts, or device information to external servers or third parties. All indexing, querying, and search operations happen 100% locally on your phone.

1. Information Handled by the App

The App requests standard Android runtime permissions solely to execute local on-device searching:

A. Local Storage & Media

READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_AUDIO

Usage: Enables scanning file names, documents, photos, and media stored on your device to show instant search results.
Privacy: No files or metadata are ever transmitted outside your device.

B. Installed Applications

QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES

Usage: Allows quick searching and direct launching of installed applications on your phone.
Privacy: App metadata is processed strictly in local RAM.

C. Contacts (Optional)

READ_CONTACTS

Usage: Allows searching and calling/messaging contacts directly from the search bar.
Privacy: Queries the local Android Contacts Provider directly. No contact data is ever uploaded or retained externally.

D. Local Search History & Favorites

Usage: Stores your recent queries and pinned items for quick access.
Storage: Stored strictly in local Android SharedPreferences. You can pause or wipe search history at any time in the app's Privacy Dashboard.

2. Third-Party Services & Analytics

No Analytics Trackers: We do not track user behavior or query metrics.
No Advertising SDKs: No third-party ad networks or cross-app tracking.
No Cloud Infrastructure: The app operates offline with no server endpoints.

3. User Control & Permissions

You have full authority to grant or revoke any permission at any time via Android System Settings (Settings > Apps > Search Everything > Permissions). You can also clear local cache and history from the in-app Privacy Dashboard.

4. Children's Privacy & Security

Because Search Everything does not collect personal information from any user, it is fully compliant with COPPA and safe for all age groups. Data on your device remains protected inside the Android sandbox.
